The National Oil Corporation welcomes the final statement of Paris Conference on Libya and its emphasis on the unity and integrity of the National Oil Corporation

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) welcomes the final statement issued by Paris Conference on Libya, in which paragraph 17 urged everyone to respect and protect the integrity and unity of Libyan financial institutions and the National Oil Corporation, in line with Security Council resolutions 2259 (2015), 2441 (2018) and 2571 ( 2021).

In its final statement, the Conference expressed its deep concern about the continued attempts of armed groups to exercise control over the National Oil Corporation and oil exports, and stressed that such actions may constitute a threat to the peace, security and stability of Libya.

The National Oil Corporation also welcomes the speech of the British Minister of State, in which he said: “The recent attacks by armed groups on the National Oil Corporation are clear attempts to control Libya’s natural resources at the expense of the Libyan people. I call on the Libyan authorities to safeguard the integrity, unity and independence of the National Oil Corporation. Libya’s political process must benefit all Libyans through the transparent management and equitable distribution of resources, and the delivery of public services.
The UK stands ready to work with Libya and international partners to build a peaceful, stable, prosperous and sovereign Libya”.

While the National Oil Corporation highly appreciates this great support from the international community for its unity and integrity, it affirms its continued role as a technical, economic and non-political institution that seeks to maintain the continuation of oil production and achieve the highest revenues to strengthen the national economy in the service of all Libyans.

The National Oil Corporation also stresses the need to stop all arbitrary measures and attempts of extortion against some workers in the oil sector at various levels, and to the need to protect the NOC  and its companies from some armed groups that are trying hard to invade the oil sector and monopolize it to create illegal sources of funding for it. And work to foment chaos and disrupt international efforts aimed at stabilizing Libya.

Finally, the NOC affirms that it is continuing the path it has followed for years, which is based on impartiality and transparency in showing oil revenues on a monthly basis, in a way that enhances the complete reassurance of the Libyan people and helps the continuation of the flow of oil for the benefit of all Libyans.

God Bless Libya
