The National Oil Corporation efforts continue to support the attempts to combat Coronavirus Pandemic in Al Wahat District

Within the sustainable development programs at the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and under the patronage of the German company Wintershall a PCR testing device for testing COVID-19 and a number of operators were delivered today Sunday 15 November 2020 at the National Centre for Disease Control, Al Wahat Branch as a first batch to support the Centre’s efforts to combat this pandemic. 
 
The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Adel Ben Gebliya, representative of the Sustainable Development Department at the National Oil Corporation, Mr. Ahmed Saad, member of the Steering Council of Jalu Municipality, Mr. Abdessalam Almadani, representative of Wintershall Company, Dr. Wael Alhawari of the National Center for Disease Control, Benghazi and Mr. Saad Abu Algasem Manager of the National Center for Disease Control, Al Wahat Branch. 
 
Dr. Wael, in the presence of a number of specialists at the Center, also presented a practical and adequate explanation on how to operate the device and how to examine the samples and obtain the results. 
 
This device is considered one of the developed devices that do not need advance preparations and usually used for detecting emergency and urgent cases. 
 
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) works through the Department of Sustainable Development, Health, Safety and Environment during the next period in coordination with the competent authorities in the State of Libya to provide with fast, inexpensive and internationally recognized tests to face the urgent need in order to conduct as many tests and diagnoses as possible particularly after the resumption of the oil operations and production and the need to test the employees in the oil fields, ports, locations and offshore platforms as well as providing support to the areas surrounding the oil locations.
