These were the most importantissues discussed in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation with the heads of sector companies.
 
The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors held a meeting on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, via the electronic communication system, with the heads of the management committees of the oil companies. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Health Department, Safety and Environment at the National Oil Corporation, to assess the epidemiological situation in the country and its impact on the workflow, and to review and update the precautionary and preventative measures necessary for protection in the current pandemic.
 
Director of the Department of Health, Safety and Environment gave a comprehensive briefing presenting the results of the pandemic’s tracking system in the institution, its agencies and its affiliate companies. The results showed an increase in the rate of infected cases, which was due to a spike in the rates of new cases the country. Moreover, the meeting covered the result summary of the tours of inspection carried out by The Department of Health, Safety and Environment, which included all oil sites commissioned by the Board of Directors of the Corporation, in order to evaluate the precautionary measures taken to contain the spread of the virus, and to deal with suspected and confirmed cases as they occur in the best possible way.
 
Both the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors stressed the importance of full adherence to the necessary precautionary and preventative measures in order to contain the spread of infection. They have also stressed the importance of continuous follow-up by all supervisory levels, and to focus on awareness campaigns to teach the basic rules of prevention, crowd management, social distancing. And while highlighting the need to regularly make available protection and sanitization equipment, the advice remained to opt for telecommunications for meetings.
 
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation issued detailed instructions to intensify efforts for a safe and healthy work environment for all employees at the oil fields, ports and sites. Explaining that the health and safety of our employees is our top priority, and everyone must immediately and strictly abide by these instructions.
