NOC supports healthcare delivery in Zillah

National Oil Corporation (NOC) in accordance with its sustainable development framework and ongoing support of local communities delivered a shipment of essential medical equipment and supplies to the Zillah Rural Hospital on August 6, 2019. The corporation’s sustainable development department will oversee the installation of machinery and organise training for medical staff to assist healthcare delivery in Zillah in the Al Jufra district.

The shipment included an X-ray scanner, two steam sterilisers, 10 pressure gauges, integrated eye detectors, and an electrocardiogram (ECG) device. The corporation has also funded and provided an integrated laboratory for analysis, two fluid suction devices, 10 oxygen pressure regulators, and two ultrasound imaging devices.

The partnership has further provided the hospital’s emergency department with several stretchers and surgical instrument trolleys, and its delivery suite with five baby beds, ECGs, two delivery chairs, heating devices, as well as phototherapy lamps.

This ‘good neighbour’ initiative brings additional medical services to Al Jufra’s communities, reducing travel time for quality healthcare provision to those living in the greater municipality and vicinity of NOC facilities.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr Ibrahim Khalifa, a representative of the NOC sustainable development department, Mr Mohammed Hassan, the Mayor of Zillah, and Mr Mahdi Khalifa, director of the Zillah Rural Hospital.
