NOC chairman discusses regional challenges with GNA Local Government Minister

National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, met with His Excellency Dr Milad Abdullah Al Taher, Local Government Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), on January 21, 2019, to discuss areas of joint cooperation and to address challenges impeding the work of Libyan oil sector companies.

Eng. Sanalla highlighted projects that NOC is currently implementing across the country, particularly in Southern Libya, through its sustainable spatial development and partner cooperation programmes.

Sanalla also underlined the importance of aligned coordination between the Ministry and the corporation to increase and maintain production, underlining NOC’s contribution to municipal programmes through its social responsibility framework and oil-hosting community ‘good neighbour’ policy – coordinating with local municipal councils in accordance with the priorities and everyday needs of citizens, including health and educational programmes.

Dr Milad Abdullah Al Taher praised NOC’s efforts to ensure the continuity of oil and gas flow and support provided to municipalities across multiple social-economic indicators. The Minister also stressed the importance of security at all oil sites and the protection of NOC facilities to allow unhindered production vital to the national economy.
