International Workers’ Day

To mark International Workers’ Day, which is being held today, Monday 1st May 2023, the Chairman and Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) expressed their pride and gratitude to all workers in Libya’s oil and gas sector for their ongoing efforts towards its continued growth. The NOC conveyed its sincerest appreciation for their vital work as well as their essential role in preserving stability in the sector and achieving sustained production rates in accordance with the Corporation’s strategy.
The Board of Directors, which assumed its duties in July of last year, has made it a priority to elevate every aspect of the sector in Libya. A crucial part of this is the improvement of workers’ conditions. To date, this has included the implementation of a decision issued in 2014 to increase salaries, an increase in field bonuses, and the issuance of various financial advances and healthcare benefits, as well as new  training programs.

The Board also acknowledges that sector employees are stationed throughout the country in land and sea fields, ports, and cities, often far from their families and loved ones. As such, they deserve recognition, holiday, and respect for their sincerity and dedication to their work. They embody the best representation of patriotism and love for the nation.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors affirms the Corporation’s determination to achieve appropriate working conditions so that sector workers can acquire all their legitimate rights in accordance with what is guaranteed to them by the law and under official regulations.

Wishing you all a happy International Workers’ Day.
