However, due to the current situation of the pandemic and the government’s recommendations to avoid crowds and rely on e-communication as much as possible, I insisted to congratulate you, even if solely through the phone. I’m incredibly proud of all the workers at the company as well as the sector. For that, a resolution was issued for you. For those who put in exceptional efforts for the resumption of production. We are expecting the entire complex to become operational again soon – God willing. Driving production forward in the whole area, which will consequently revive the region’s economy and open horizons for development and employment.

However, as production resumes, the employees’ conditions will improve on all levels. Including training, services, and such. He confirmed that, with the continuation of production and the introduction of revenues to the state treasury, the company will get the full support of the NOC.

He went on to say, “when I speak of Ras Lanuf, I speak of an industrial castle, a school in the world of Oil, and a industrial complex built by the late founding Father Rajab Alkawafi and Eng. Mahmoud Alnaas. And I hope, as every Libyan hopes, that it returns to its full working capacity, and that it contributes, as it has always contributed, to the industrial growth of our nation by providing an income to the state treasury and bringing forth technical cadres praised by the world.

Mr. Sanalla thanked the Government of National Unity for its constant support to the National Oil Corporation, as well as its endeavors to provide all capacities to advance the sector. He explained that, “Oil and Gas are blessings bestowed upon this country, and they are due to be thanked. For which praise be to Allah, and that we may preserve them. We have witnessed several countries declaring bankruptcy, and others experiencing great financial hardships. While Libya, thanks to Allah, your efforts, along with the efforts of all workers in the Oil Sector, receives income because of what He gifted us with, and as long as we are able to do so, we shall spare no efforts to preserve it.”
