Chairman of the Board of Directors receives the German Ambassador to Libya Michael Ohnmacht

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mustafa Sanalla, received on Wednesday afternoon, September 29, 2021 at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation in the Libyan capital Tripoli, His Excellency the German Ambassador to Libya Mr. Michael Ohnmacht and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Mustafa Sanalla welcomed the ambassador and the accompanying delegation wishing him every success in his new mission as German ambassador to Libya.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Board of Directors expressed his appreciation for the prominent role played by the State of Germany through its support and constructive efforts to restore stability to the Libyan state. “The stability we are witnessing in the Libyan state today had the first starting point from Berlin. I appreciate all the efforts that were made to bring about this stability, especially the support that the National Oil Corporation received in keeping it away from all political tension, which led to the impressive results and achievements that the oil sector achieved despite all challenges, in achieving high production levels to support the national economy.”
He added: “Libya and Germany have deep historical ties, and we seek to invest these solid relations to consolidate ways of mutual cooperation to develop the oil sector and benefit from Germany’s experience, especially in the technology of alternative and renewable energies in the Libyan oil industry in the coming years.”
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his happiness for his presence in Libya and the city of Tripoli, noting that he is very happy with the stability that the Libyan state is witnessing at present and praising the achievements made by the National Oil Corporation in maintaining production levels, sustainability and the unity and stability of the country. He also pointed out that German companies specialized in the oil and energy field is determined to invest in Libya, especially the oil sector, as it is the most important sector and its main source of income. He indicated that he is optimistic about the future of the oil sector and the Libyan state, stressing the continued support of the German Embassy to the National Oil Corporation, the main source to the Libyan economy.
