A convoy of medical equipment delivered to Edri Al-Shati municipality
In continuation of the visit made by Mr. Mustafa Sanaalla, NOC chairman to Sebha, Brak Al-Shati and Edri Al-Shati municipalities on the 29th May 2021, together with Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Ramadan Abu Janah, during which the municipality of Edri Al-Shati was announced an oil rich location in Libya.
A convoy of medical equipment was delivered to Abu Qadqud Health Center to equip this center with various needs on Thursday 10th June. The equipment included kidney dialysis devices and a desalination plant in order to start operating the dialysis center, as well as medical furniture and operational devices. Civil works materials were also supplied as the basic maintenance work will be promptly carried out at the health center to prepare it for the installation and operation of the provided equipment and supplies. Edri Karoui Hospital was also supplied with the necessary equipment.
The Sustainable Development Department team are investigating and studying the shortage of drinking water issue in Edri Al-Shati, in order to solve this problem as soon as possible.
Edri, being a borders area, is an oil rich area due to its proximity to a number of major oil fields. It is also a transit area for oil pipelines, while suffering from several infrastructure problems.
Chairman of NOC, Mr. Mustafa Sanaalla commented: “It is within the declared policy of NOC regarding the “good neighborly” at all the areas of our operations, and in order to perform what we have promised during our visit to the southern regions, NOC will seek to solve all the difficulties in this municipality as well as other areas, hoping that the financial conditions will improve, so that NOC can receive the adequate budgets from the Libyan government”.
