A number of members of the House of Representatives affirm their full support of the National Oil Corporation and the need to liquidate necessary budgets so that it can overcome financial difficulties and continue its work.

At the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) in Tripoli, The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC, Mustafa Sanalla, met with members of the House of Representatives including, Ms. Ibtisam Juma’a and Osama Al-Shaafi.
In another meeting, Sanalla met with members of the House of Representatives, Sayyed Salah Hashem and Sayyed Abd al-Nabi Abd al-Mawla. Also in attendance at the meeting was Mr. Hamza Abd Rabbo from the Constitution Committee.

During the two meetings, those present discussed the current situation of the oil sector and the current level of production of oil and gas, as well as the great difficulties and challenges that the sector is experiencing due to the scarcity of budgets. This has led to the inability of the National Oil Corporation to pay its obligations and debts to local and international contracts. The National Oil Corporation needs to obtain appropriate budgets for the continuation of it’s operations of supply and subsistence for workers in the oil fields and ports so that production can continue.
Funds are needed for the implementation of many projects to develop the infrastructure of the sector and urgent work to prevent all operations from halting due to the failure of the National Oil Corporation in obtaining these necessary funds.

The members of the House of Representatives reaffirmed their full support for the National Oil Corporation and its companies and the need to liquidate the sector’s budgets so that these obstacles can be overcome and production operations can continue, given that the oil sector is the main artery of the Libyan economy and the only source of income for the country.
