BPMC confirms salary payments made to employees in Central and Eastern regions
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company (BPMC), a subsidiary of National Oil Corporation (NOC), confirms that it has referred the salary instruments of workers in the central and eastern regions to the banks in the affected areas, overcoming attempts by an illegitimate parallel board to obstruct payments.
BPMC’s Departments of Financial Affairs, Internal Audit and Information Technology and Communications transferred the September invoicing details of the employees in the Central and Eastern regions to local banks to process payments. Employees should receive payment tomorrow.
BPMC Chairman Imad Ben Koura said: “This unfortunate episode demonstrates that the so-called parallel board is incapable of managing the most basic functions of the company. If we had not found a way to solve the problem, our staff and their families would still not be paid. We urge the so-called parallel board members to step aside so order can be restored.”
